A few months ago I tried to get more root higher up on the stem on my Ficus benjamina so that I can cut it of the stem and train it to become a shorter (Shohin) bonsai tree. It’s been planted low in the container for 6 months and now it’s time to see if the new roots are strong enough to cut of the main stem of the tree. Ficus benjamina normally don’t like to be cut down without leaving any leafs left so my plan was to produce roots higher up on this ficus benjamina.
Do you have any other methods you know of or have tried please let me know so i can also try.
